Who is Mrinal Kulkarni?
Mrinal Dev was born on 21 June 1971 in Pune, Maharashtra, in a Marathi Brahmin family. In 1990, Mrinal married Ruchir Kulkarni and after that she became Mrinal Kulkarni. Mrinal’s parents were doctors but Mrinal obtained a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from Pune University.
Mrinal Kulkarni has a son Virajas Kulkarni who is a Marathi film director and writer. Mrinal started acting at the age of 16. Apart from acting, today Mrinal Kulkarni is also the director of Marathi TV serials and some films.
Mrinal Kulkarni Shows and Movies
At the age of 16, Mrinal Kulkarni played the role of Peshwa Madhavraj’s wife Ramabai Peshwa in the Marathi serial Swami. This brought her a lot of popularity but till then Mrinal was not serious about her acting career. She completed her studies and she also wanted to become a doctor but when she started getting offers, she chose acting as her career.
In the year 1994, she finally gave priority to acting and worked in many serials and films. Mrinal was more active in Marathi films and serials but also worked in 22 Hindi TV serials. Mrinal has worked in films like ‘Dear Diya’, ‘And Zara Hatke’, ‘Kuch Meetha Ho Jaye’, ‘Uff Kya Jadoo Hai’, ‘Saari’, ‘Subedar’ and ‘The Kashmir Files’.
‘Son Pari’ gained popularity in every household
Although Mrinal did many Hindi TV serials in the 90’s, she did not get the popularity like ‘Son Pari’ from anywhere. On 23 November 2000, a show named ‘Son Pari’ started which was based on magic. In this show, there is a motherless child Fruity (Tanvi Hegged) whose father is a businessman and is very busy. That child always cries for her mother. There is a fairy in the sky whom everyone calls Son Pari (Mrinal Kulkarni). She comes to earth with her messenger (Altu) to find some of her lost things.
Here she sees Fruity crying, so she stops there and starts taking care of her. She saves that girl from every trouble. The last show of ‘Son Pari’ was aired on 1 October 2004, a total of 268 episodes of this show were shown. The title track of this show was sung by Shreya Ghoshal and this show was a superhit show of that time.
